what age to chew vitamins?

I got some ds (20 months) some vitamins tonight. They are the regular, chewable kind. He was not interested in chewing them AT ALL. Fortunately they'll be fine in a bottle for a long time, but I'm wondering how long it may be before he'll attempt eating them. He eats all kinds of solid food, but maybe these are too small/hard?

I would think as soon as he has molars he'd be capable. Willing, on the other hand, is a different story, My kids like some brands and reject others.

Yeah, he has some molars, hard to see how many. But willing is another story!!

If they're with added iron, they usually taste pretty gross. My kids would eat the gummies but not the harder chewables.

I don't think they have added iron. They are animal parade plus. I saw gummies and wanted those, but every other vitamin in the store (health food) had some form of added sugar! The ones I got have xylitol. I guess we'll just have to put them away for a while. Ugh.

I buy Animal Parade multi-vitamins and C for my big kids and my 2 yr old wants to take them too. (he was 2 in Jan.) He doesn't need them (still breastfeeding), but I'll let him have one vitamin C.

I think that has just been in the past month or two that he's wanted some. It's when he sees us get vitamins out of the cabinet.
