Feingold diet
Some of you may have seen my posts over the last year about the rages my daughter goes through. It's been building over several years, with the last year being the most violent. We've tried gluten free, dairy free, soy and corn free, dye free, HFCS and other junk free diets, and she still has a short fuse personality. A friend told me about her son being the exact same way, but changed dramatically once on the Feingold diet.
So here I am, ready to try yet another diet change. However, I'm finding it hard to wrap my head around. Most of the things we a, and consider to be the healthy alternatives to the Fingold "safe" foods, are on the bad list. Coconut and olive oil, almonds, avocados, tomatoes, berries, etc.. I haven't purchased the program as of yet, but when I google Feingold food ideas, all the recipes are heavy on cane sugar, all purpose flour, canola oil, etc.. The friend who told me about it had Pringles and I had to get them from my baby because of his food sensitivities, an she said, "Oh, they are on the Feingold safe list." Which I find disturbing. Anyhow, has anyone done, or are doing, Feingold, and also keep to healthier choices? We try to buy only non-GMO, grassfed, organic, etc.. Thanks.

Re: Feingold diet
A good friend of mine is doing it with her middle boy, 3.5. They've finished the 6 week intro period and have started reintroducing things. They eat very clean, unprocessed usually. He's highly allergic to eggs, sensitive to gluten, oats, bananas, and a couple other things. They are doing it for help with his SPD and speech issues and have seen a lot of progress. She has said that actually buying the program info is a lot more useful than the list, and she's super frugal so it must be worth it. And apparently a lot of the lists that you can google are not correct.

Re: Feingold diet
Try googling low salicylate foods which will give you a rundown of "real" foods and how high or low their salicylate content.Other than that it is about avoiding certain dyes and chemicals which you try to do anyway

Re: Feingold diet
A friend did this for her son until he was about 10 and outgrew all his food allergies. He's now about 17.
