We had pulled pork out of the freezer last night, with steamed broccoli and raw carrots/peppers.

Tonight is DS2's birthday, and he wants macaroni and cheese and Brussels sprouts (seriously! ). Prob will do green beans too since DS1 doesn't love sprouts.

Tonight we had sloppy joes made with ground turkey and Mexican rice and corn. The sloppy joes were a little "doctored" with lots chopped green peppers and Tuscan kale mixed in.

Yesterday we had beef pot roast, carrots, turnips and potatoes.

I haven't planned ahead for the rest of the week.

I just pulled some homemade chicken broth from the freezer to thaw for tonight's dinner of chicken cabbage vegetable soup. It's that time of year when I notice the children's immune systems are in full force, fighting all the thousands of germs that they are coming in contact with every day at school, so I'll add in lots of garlic and give their immune systems a boost.

I am also planning to make an apple crisp, or maybe another type of apple dish for dessert. I have to do some googling and find something that looks delicious. I have lots of delicious apples from the Farmer's market.

white chicken chili for us tonight - probably salads with it. hoping it will be extra good because I'm using chicken and broth from a heavily-seasoned whole chicken recipe instead of the plain chicken and broth I normally use. and grain-free, sugar-free chocolate cupcakes for dessert; our friends whose DD was born the day before DS2 are coming over, and she's got all kinds of food sensitivities. hoping they turn out yummy!

What recipe are you using? Let me know how your risk turns out.

I bought a butternut squash and plan on making butternut squash soup for the first time later this week.
