Default Help me Uber

We have a trip coming up in a few weeks. It is a bit of a whirlwind trip so I won’t be renting a car. We are going to two major cities and planning on Ubering for our transportation. BUT I have only attempted to use Ube one time before and it didn’t work out. The car just drove right past without even stopping. So what are some tips to successfully using Ube? It will be me and my 2 teens. I am comfortable with the rest of our trip except this part.

The car drove right past you?? Your house, you mean? I also used to drive by your house because I got confused
Is there a note section on the app so you can say I’ll be outside wearing such and such with two teen girls?

Lyft, if possible, is better. A lot better.

Agreed.

When you book your ride, pay attention to the details of the car (I don't know cars at all but I know enough to at least recognize a black Toyota). Depending on how crowded the area is where you're hoping for a pick-up, they may park just a little ways off or on the other side of the street, but they won't leave right away. When you get the alert that your car has arrived, start looking for the car make and color and make your way over to them - they'll be looking for you

They'll usually verify your first name, and it is 100% expected that you will verify their name too (it's a safety measure). All of the car details will be in the app, given so you can cross-check them for your own sense of security. The pick-up can be the most stressful part but the drivers are all used to the places you'll be visiting, so they'll know that

Ok so i’ll look into Lyft.
Last time it was a busy street corner in Philly but we were away from the crowd we were stepping toward the car we thought was it when it never stopped and then I saw it drive away on our app.

I am hoping it will be easier/better this time because we will be hotel pick ups most of the time and my one kid will have stand out hair most likely if sh gets her way before the trip so i could use that as an identifier I guess if I need to.

I’ve used Uber dozens of times with no problems. You can call or message your driver through the app to make sure they know where you’ll be standing.

We successfully used Uber to get around Dallas! The one driver gave us a bit of a talking tour as he drove us to where we were going which was great since we weren’t going to get to actually donor see too much of it in the short stay we had. And in the conversation I found out he works as part church planting non profit.
