Default Help, urine removal on laminate hardwood

Best way to clean dog urine out of laminate hardwood flooring?

We have lived here for 9 months and tonight I got home a lot later than expected and there was a puddle on the laminate. I soaked it up, but I'm not sure how to clean it. I have Nature's Miracle, but not the hardwood solution, and I have clorox urine remover, but it doesn't say it's safe for hardwood floors. I sprayed it with vinegar water and wiped it up, but need to make sure the smell is out of the floor.

I've never had laminate hardwood flooring before...I don't want to ruin it!

It's probably fine. If it were me, I'd wait until tomorrow and see if there's a smell. If there is, I'd spray it with Nature's Miracle, wait a bit, and wipe it off. It should be just fine.

Laminate flooring is not hardwood flooring. You have to be a little careful with hardwood. Laminate is pretty easy to clean. Do you know which kind you have?

I don't know what kind it is. I wish I did. The house had been flipped when we bought it, all the flooring was new. This is the first big "spill" on it.

I read online to sprinkle baking soda over it and let it set for a few hours. I figure that can't hurt as long as I don't rub it...so It's been sitting for awhile. I'll use the sweeper before I go to bed and suck up the baking soda...and then see if it smells tomorrow I guess. I just don't want any of the animals smelling it and thinking they should go there. All of our animals are completely potty trained...no accidents. I felt bad for our dog tonight, this was my fault. I just misjudged how long it had been since she went out and when the last person was home. :/

If it is laminate you cant use much of anything wet on it. It ruins it. Better to spray a cloth with the enzyme spray and wipe it and then wipe it dry

It's hard to tell from a picture but I'm guessing it's laminate. But I could be completely wrong!

Laminate is NOT wood. You can usually tell by touching it and looking at the seams.

I have waterproof laminate and that's very common, now.

Did they leave any extra flooring pieces? We have some extra in the garage and that's how I know what I have.

But, no matter what it is, misting it is fine.

How are you doing regular cleaning?

It is laminate for sure. I just don't know what kind. I think it might be waterproof...but we have no extra of it and I don't if I can contact the previous owner or not. I'm sure I have his name in all the paperwork. Hmm.

I cleaned it up by spraying vinegar water on it the other night a few times. Then when it was dry I sprinkled baking soda over it and let it sit for a few hours. Then used the hose nozzle and sucked it up. I got on amazon and ordered Nature's Miracle that is specifically for hardwood/laminate and other floors. It came today so I plan on spraying that on their, making sure it gets down in the seams and then wiping it dry. I don't really smell anything when I sniff right on it, so that's good. I really hope that takes care of any smell in here. I know when it's hot and humid smells tend to come out, so I guess I'll find out.
