Yes, a rice cooker is as amazing (and necessary) as a crock pot. I've even hooked mine up to a timer so I could prep everything before going out of the house and come home to perfectly cooked food.

If you don't mind prepackaged food, we really like Trader Joes turkey meatballs. Put in the crockpot with a good quality jar of pasta sauce. We eat it as meatball subs or with pasta.
Speaking of pasta, One pot wonder pasta is awesome. Don't bother with fresh tomatoes if you don't have them. We have used canned diced tomatoes just fine. It is easy because you just put in all in the pot and walk away and only have to wash one pot. And, to keep the starch coming....if you don't mind little spicy, these noodles are so amazing and take less than 15 minutes, even though the blogger says they take 15 minutes. I have it down to about 8, and very little of that is hands on. The thing that takes the longest is snipping the cilantro off the stems. I am addicted to them. Now that I have thought about them, I must make them tomorrow. (oh, I do not put in the red pepper flakes, but I do use lo mein noodles. I have never tried it with ramen or linguine.)

This takes 15 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes at noon, and half an hour before dinner. This is my third-most-exhausted scratch meal (second is plain roast chicken or turkey, first is pasta with freezer meat, and after that it's storebought frozen pizzas and so on.)
1. In the morning, put a big hunk of some barbecue-ready cut of pork or beef in the slow cooker. We use beef neck bones or pork shoulder, about 7 pounds. Put in about a cup of water, put on the lid, turn the cooker on Low, and walk away. 2. After lunch, dip out as much of the stock in the pot as you can. This is delicious as a base for soups and stews. 3. Half an hour before dinner, put on a pot of rice. Put a small saucepan on another burner. Melt a stick of butter in it. Stir in 2 cups brown sugar, a tablespoon of garlic powder, 1/4 cup of your favorite mustard, 1/2 cup honey, and 1/2 tablespoon salt. Taste, adjust the seasoning, spread the sauce over the meat, and leave until the rice is done. The meat should be meltingly tender by now--you should be able to just pull out the bones. 4. Serve with bag salad or a cut-up melon. Or just say "Forget it, we're carbo-loading tonight" and nuke some corn! When I am not exhausted, I make coleslaw the night before (KFC clone recipe yum yum--the secret, BTW, is tarragon vinegar) and butter rolls the day of.

DH & I used to make potato pierogies from scratch pre-kids. I've recently discovered they come in a box in the freezer aisle. It's processed & packaged, but you simply boil them for 5 mins or so & top with shredded cheese & optional salsa.
Costco has great fresh ravioli options; I'm partial to butternut squash. Potatoes washed, pierced & wrapped in foil. Place in the crockpot on high for 4 hours (less time if they're small potatoes). Top with chili, cheese & salsa or whatever toppings. Bean burritos. Frozen stir fry veggies with any kind of Asian sauce served over rice. Trader Joes frozen tamales.
