Re: How do you season your beans?
I put mine in the tortilla along with everything else. I basically turn most of my dinners into tacos.

Re: How do you season your beans?
I strain mine out of the cooking liquid and then use them in anything I'd use canned beans in. I know some people use the cooking liquid but I don't.

Re: How do you season your beans?
We dump them in chili, liquid and all. We eat them as a side dish with mexican casseroles or enchiladas, use a slotted spoon to serve onto a plate. Some of us eat a bowl of them with the liquid, like soup. I add them to other dishes, after straining.

Re: How do you season your beans?
I don't use the cooking liquid either. I soak overnight, sprout for a couple of days, and then freeze or cook them to add to recipes. We don't really eat beans alone here. We:
-add rice and salsa -use for different types of chili or Indian-inspired dishes -use as taco/burrito filling -make crock-pot refried beans -use in soup -use for bean salad -puree to use as sauces (mostly white beans for this)

Re: How do you season your beans?
White beans are my favourite. I soak them over night, rinse them well and cook them untill they are nice and soft. I add some salt during the last 1/2 hour of cooking. The liquid I often pour in another pan for it is still good for a soup. I put the beans in a bowl and I season them with thyme, chives and olive oil.

Re: How do you season your beans?
The liquid is great to use for cooking rice.

Re: How do you season your beans?
Louisiana red beans and rice ARE a meal! Soak eight hours, drain, cook in fresh water. After they are soft, sauté the seasonings of Cajun cooking - onions, celery, and green bell pepper. Add to the beans. Add chopped smoked sausage and serve on top of rice. Voila - a full meal!

Re: How do you season your beans?
Oh, great. Now for the rest of the night my brain goes "give me a sister I can't resist her, red beans and rice didn't miss her..."
