Re: Positive Discipline - Week 5
For valentines last year I made ds1 a picture frame that said around the boarder, "what I love about (ds1's name)" with room in the middle to write on the glass with dry erase marker a nice compliment. I noticed the other day that it has been a while since I wrote something new. I am going to make a point of updating it a couple of times this week.

Re: Positive Discipline - Week 5
I am finding that these topics are very interconnected. For example - compliments is a way of connecting which we talked about in week 1. I have to confess that it is really easy for me to point out what went wrong and a lot harder to focus on what went right Changing one's focus is a difficult and slow process but that is why I'm doing this. I want to learn to be a better Mommy.

Re: Positive Discipline - Week 5
I need to work on this SO MUCH! I am just not a very verbal compliments person at all. I DO things for people when I feel appreciative, but I don't SAY it enough. I need to work on this a ton. My DH really enjoys praise which I know would make him feel more loved and my DS is starting to seem like he is like his dad. He doesn't really seem to remember the thing I did for him as much as he remembers what I said about it.
I am late to this so I can't seem to find Week 1 & 2. Does anyone have the links? Thanks!
