Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
They are generally $1.00-$1.10 when I've looked here. I've actually bought a couple. And then chickened out on eating them until they have gotten so smushed in my purse that I threw them away.

1.79 is regular price here. I love the peanut butter cookie, peanut butter chocolate chip cookie, and chocolate chip cookie dough

Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
I am not paleo or primal (far from it, I'm vegetarian! ) but I am trying to be grain and sugar free to maintain my 48 pound weight loss.
I am also totally addicted to sugar, and when I was at my highest weight I had insulin resistance, high blood sugar and PCOS. Tonight for dinner I had a lentil-quinoa-frittata bar with salsa and sour cream on top. So good! Breakfasts usually are based on eggs, a recent favourite is mini egg cups with sweet potato and fetta. I sometimes do almond milk peanut butter banana smoothies, or I put some apple, dates, coconut and almonds in the food processor, chop them all up and serve with some plain yoghurt. |

Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
I made these turkish sliders last night and they were awesome - http://nomnompaleo.com/post/50341384...slider-burgers
I don't have a sous vide thingiemabobber, so I just pan fried mine. The sliders are great with sweet potatoes and greens. Also, I used a different seasoning mix that a friend made me for Christmas last year. I looked at the ingredients and it was similar, though.

I would do this with your sausage, but season italian-ly instead of mexican-ly!

I would crumble and brown the sausage in a pan with chopped onions, and a little spinach dice and roast the parsnips with oil, salt and pepper, slice the sweet potato thinly and fry until soft with crispy edges.
Top the parsnips with the sausage mixture and have the sweet potatoes on the side. |

Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
One of my family's favorite meals is when I dice up sausage and sweet potatoes and bake it all together in one dish. The sweet potatoes get all caramelized and the saltiness of the sausage tastes so good with it!
ETA: I leave the skin on the sweet potatoes. ETA(2): I just realized that your italian sausage may be crumbles rather than italian sausages (in a sausage shape). I think either would work, but I normally do it with actual sausages.

Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
Last night I made the pork with squishy squashy apples from ELaD and added diced sweet potatoes. Chelsea ate THREE helpings of just apples and sweet potatoes. I'd say that's a hit

Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
Due to living where I did in Alabama and our frequent infestation with roaches, I STILL cannot eat whole dates. I put them in my kefir, but I will NOT eat them.
DH wants to dim the lights after a certain time of night, and if that's only when I get a chance to eat... I'm all "Noooooooooo! I have to see my food!!" He thinks it's overreacting, but I've had everything possible in my food through various times of life and I cannot take the chance I missed something when I made it or poured or transported. Nope. No even as clean as our house is. We had a bad infestation for the last two years as soon as it got warm, and I'm still freaked out about finding something moving in my food - even without roaches here. I do love larabars. I remember them from when I first went GF in the states, and they are lovely! ---------- Post added at 11:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:08 PM ---------- Quote:
Ummmm stir fry? don't even really have to add much fat if any to that. All the ingredients except the flour and yogurt for that. |

So, so discouraged! I should have known to check beforehand, but I'm eating at Chick-fil-a and got tortilla soup )w/o tortilla strips) that I assumed was wheat free. And noooo. Looked up the nutrition info *after* I ate it and about halfway through the ingredient list? Wheat flour. Stink. I got to 24 hours.
