More canning drama

I'm making spiced nectarine jam and forgot to boil the fruit first, before adding the pectin. WHY do I fail to read directions properly??? (bangs head on wall)

I'm getting it up to a boil now. You're supposed to boil the fruit, THEN add the pectin and boil again.

Sounds like it probably just won't fall apart...like you'll have more pieces of fruit instead of something smoother. Maybe an ice cream topping, something to make cobbler, etc., if it ends up hard to use it all as jam.
