I have a bunion on my foot.

I finally mentioned it to my chiropractor. I was embarrassed by it.

Anyway, he said that if I don't do something it will get worse, so he told me to rub the muscle on the inside of my foot for a few minutes every day to activate that muscle. Then after a few weeks or so I should be able to move my toe to the side, and then I'm supposed to move it and strengthen that muscle. I'm supposed to put a rubber band on it to give some resistance, so my toe has a resistance workout.

Anyway, it's supposed to help my toe straighten out, and hopefully help the bunion, probably not disappear, but at least get smaller.

Has anyone ever tried doing that? I hope so much I works! I'm excited that my chiropractor gave me something I can do to help it get better.

Do you also have flat feet with the bunion?

I don't think so.

I just double-checked to see what type of arch I have using this method, and it looks like I have a normal/medium arch:

Good news then. The arch stuff can make it reoccur. The simple fix should work.

Also maybe take a look at Pete Egoscue's book Pain Free. His chapter on feet definitely refers to bunions.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this

I'm glad there is a pretty simple fix that will help!

When I saw the podiatrist she was surprised to inform me that I did not, in fact, have bunions - I just have very large bones in my toe joints

I've got orthotics that are supposed to help me not need the joint replacement or fusing until I'm in my 60's because apparently they have a 15 year life span before they need to be redone.

So please make sure you do the fix he gave you

And I look forward to positive updates
