Plan my party menu please, oh please?
I'm having a small birthday party for DD this weekend.
10:30-12:30ish 22 people including our family possible, but I have a feeling at least 5 won't show up, and over half are kids. Mine is mostly dairy free so I want to avoid much cheese I already have bottled water and plan to make strawberry infused lemonade, will make coffee, will make cupcakes and buying those mini ice cream cups, and have some Super 4 kale and garlic chip type things that I know at least some of the kids will eat, and have pretzel sticks to drizzle with white choc and put sprinkles onto (wands, since it is a Tinkerbell party) and that's all I have figured out. Please help me feed these people. |

Re: Plan my party menu please, oh please?
Are you looking to feed them lunch or are you thinking more snacky type foods.
You could do something like mini sandwiches, which would be fairly simple and enough to be considered lunch.

Snacks they can fill up on if they want
I'm a picky eater so this doesn't come naturally to me What kinds of mini sandwiches should I offer? |

It's at lunch time so I'd do finger sandwiches.

Sandwich ideas: pbj, ham, roast beef, turkey, salami, egg salad, chicken salad, ham salad, for those that don't mind cheese pimiento cheese or cream cheese
You could do some of the meat sandwiches with cheese for the cheese eaters. Each sandwich cut into four corners makes them kind of special or you could also cut each sandwich into four strips.

Re: Plan my party menu please, oh please?
Or maybe you could do a sandwich bar? Like get some pretty loaves of bread from panera or a bakery, set out a pretty dish with chicken salad in it, a tray of sliced cheeses, a tray of deli meats, and condiments at the end. That way you don't have to prep as much and people can just get what they want.

Deviled eggs is another filling snack if you want another option. I would be inclined to offer a fruit or veggie tray but maybe that's just me.

Re: Plan my party menu please, oh please?
Chicken druimsticks are my go-to. Kids can run around with it, it's filling and even babies can eat it. It's easy anda very little prep but tasty.
I also keep samoosas, mini-pies and sausage rolls to throw in the oven as well. Well you have to fry the samoosas. Again, no effort. If you are serving yummy salads, have some wraps, for people to dump it into if they are so inclined. If it's informal, think things that people can run around with in their hands while chasing kids. So salad in a plate, not so much. Salad in a wrap, yes.

Re: Plan my party menu please, oh please?
I would do a sandwich bar like CC mentioned so parents and kids can make their own. Doesnt have to be elaborate. Would even cut bread into quarters.depends on time of day too. If it isnt a lunchtime thing then they would prob not expect lunch. Could do chips and dip and some veggies and fruit. Many parties have been to just do cake and drinks

Re: Plan my party menu please, oh please?
I would add a platter of mini sandwiches -- probably just some pbj and some basic meat variety. Cut in to quarters.
Then a fruit and/or veggie tray. Added to what you listed in your OP and I think you have a delicious feast.

Pickles, snack crackers? I usually do some sort of chip too.
