compost location
I've started a compost pile back behind my back yard garden, in the corner. It's going well. Except, my husband wants to clear that area (there's ivy and thorns growing along the back) and he wants to move the compost. We have two raised beds in front of where the compost is currently and I didn't know if we could use those. Should I take a side off (or leave them intact? I don't know why most piles have three sides) and mostly empty the beds? We don't use them to grow anything, we've never had success in the back. For whatever reason, I can't get anything to flower back there, much less grow food. In the early summer there were HUGE earthworms in there, but I haven't seen any in a while. Right now the only thing growing is ivy and thorns but that's anywhere in the back. It took this long to compost because it took years to have any sort of order along the back of that yard. So anyway, I'm not sure what compost needs and if it will be fine to move it to the raised bed.
