have any of you done cooking like this during vacation time? and if so, what were the family favs?
we are going to go to the beach...so low prep good food at the end of the day would be lovely. I'm thinking...the standard chicken, and a pulled bbq pork. any other ideas? |

My family has raved over slow-cooking premade frozen meatballs in jarred spaghetti sauce all day vs what it tastes like when you cook it on the stove

Friends of mine got away with hiding it in a hollowed out scented candle.

Re: taking the pot on vacation
As far as the OP - it's a good idea! A lot of families that work with food allergies do this - it makes eating while away from home safe and affordable.

Re: taking the pot on vacation
So all sillies aside, will you be in a hotel room or have a kitchenette of some kind? if you will have a kitchen I would also sautee a bunch of cut up chicken breasts to have on hand - can throw in a salad or make chicken salad or let the kids eat them like chicken tenders or eat on fajitas or in burritos or with some pasta of some kind - the list goes on & on.Handy to have.
