I bought a vintage electrolux canister vacuum for $100 off ebay. Works wonderfully.

FYI, the vacuum Soliloquy mentioned is for sale on the Shark website for $199 ($50 less than Amazon), free shipping and you get a free Shark steam mop.

I don't need a steam mop, but I'm snagging this deal anyway. Maybe my sister wants a steam mop for her birthday? Also, you can get a second vacuum for 20% off if you know anyone else who's vacuum shopping.

Just though I'd let y'all know!

ETA they are slightly different models (NV501 vs NV500) but as far as I can tell the only difference in the models are the accessory options available. It appears to be the same vacuum. Or so say the results of my quick google research.

Will these shark vacuum cleaners handle thicker carpet....thicker? Taller?.....ones where the strands are longer? I get a super arm workout trying to vacuum the new carpet in our bedroom because the pile is so high.

We loooooovvvvee our shark.

I have had it for maybe a year? I do have to clean to bar from me and my sisters long hair, but it has awesome suction the dust is contained well, the filters are washable and seem to do an excellent job keeping the dust down..

I ordered it! I've been lusting after a steam mop for our main floor (all hard floors) but haven't been willing to spend the money . . . I wasn't planning to spend $200 on a vacuum, but if I'd bought a vacuum AND steam mop it would've been that or more, so this gets better quality of both for the same price

I'm pretty sure mine has automatic height adjustment. Mine isn't self-propelled. I had a self-propelled vacuum for years and I always had that feature turned off. It was annoying.

Thanks, Lisa. I am seriously considering buying one......if I can resist the almost $200 of add ons ;-). I wish they would sell the optional items singly so I could get those I want (like the rolling caddy and the bare floor wand).
I like that we can buy it in four payments too.....makes it more comfortable on the budget. Right now, the bedrooms do not get vacuumed nearly often enough since it is such a strenuous workout. I do not even want to think about all the dirt and dust hiding in the carpets.

You know that if you ignore out and don't think about it it's not there, right?

We recently bought this shark http://www.amazon.com/Shark-NV22L-Na...s=shark+vacuum

The amount of dirt it is picking up kind of freaks me out because obviously,my old vacuum left it behind...

Our vacuum and steam mop came today! fast shipping!

Of course it got here right before my aunt and uncle and grandma were going to be getting here for a visit, so we unpacked and assembled it, but didn't get to try it out! Will probably just make sure mopping and vacuuming are on the chore chart for tomorrow to try them both out
