I missed the thing about Baby Veronica. But I think your new way of using FB sounds wonderful.

I've been slowly doing this. Has anyone limited who they share their posts with and done it effectively? And if so, how? That is one thing I haven't really had good success with. I had a group of neighbors that I put on acquaintance status because I couldn't trust them.

Once you edit who can see a post, it remembers that until you change it. You can set purple you don't trust to restricted and they only see your public posts.

I put a lot of people on acquaintance status, and they don't see much more than my public stuff. Pretty much everything I share defaults to "friends, except acquaintances."

You could also have specific lists like "birthy stuff people" (just as an example), and the birthy stuff you share can only be shared with those people.

It's been so long since I set that, that I couldn't tell you how to do it, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. The hard part is getting everyone you want on the lists.

I personally prefer if people just unfriend me rather than unfollow I notice who interacts with my FB and if they are quiet or never like posts, I unfriend them. I try to keep my FB small and would prefer it be comprised of people who actually want to interact with me

I've been making changes to my FB feed as well. I did actually just unfriend quite a few people with whom I either hadn't talked to in a couple years and/or just wasn't sharing space with (irl or online). I'm trying hard to limit my Facebook friends to people I do share space or have an active friendship with.

That said, I'm probably going on a LONG Facebook break that will take me through the holidays.

Well, now you know my preference is to be unfriended, not unfollowed

I don't unfriend people with whom I interact as much as you I'd share more of my criteria but not in a public post

And since we interact here and sometimes on FB, I probably wouldn't unfriend you because I'd consider our relationship "active."

Default Re: I made peace with Facebook.

I've changed my posts to friends except acquaintances, and my aquaitence list is long. I have family out of state I keep in touch with on fb. I do have a few locals on fb, but I only see them at church once a week. I don't really have any friends I hang out with during the week, I'm a 41 year old with a three year old. Too old for the other toddler moms, they stay away, and women my age don't want to deal with a toddler in tow. I'm not sure why they even added me, lol. I'm probably going to unfollow everyone who isn't family or gentle parenting related.

Oh I am sorry that you don't feel like you fit. I am always trying to find women like you, who are older than me and therefore have some wisdom and been their done that advice, but that still have is child the age of mine so I know I can trust there advice to not just be misremembering the struggles with littles.
