GIANT throw pillows...?
OK, so DH and I got a free sectional a couple years ago from a family members, but it didn't come with the back cushions. So we've been using lots of throw pillows, but they're not big enough.
Where can I buy BIG, oversized pillows? Our sectional is kind of like this- so we need the "scatter back" pillows: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden...2/product.html Any leads? I feel like I've looked EVERYWHERE in person and can't find them anywhere (I'm also getting deja vu, so if I've already posted this here, forgive me).

Re: GIANT throw pillows...?
If you sew, they are easy to make yourself. I know several years ago I was looking to replace the cushions on our sofa and found pillow forms that size at a local fabric store. Jo-Ann's carries foam as well, so if you are inclined to go more tailored, you could make rectangular back cushions.
FYI: if you DO buy at Jo-Ann's, foam and upholstery supplies go on sale (40-50% off) quite frequently. If you wait until the next "Holiday" weekend, you'll save $$.

Re: GIANT throw pillows...?
I was going to suggest pillow forms from JoAnn's, too.
Would you feel comfortable asking the Home Ec teacher at your school if she'd be interested in making some? I'm sure it would take her no time at all & she might appreciate some extra Christmas money.

Re: GIANT throw pillows...?
Good idea, Mommylove! I don't think we actually have a Home Ec teacher at school, but I wonder if there is someone in the area (I'm sure there is) who'd be willing to make them...maybe I'll post a Facebook status Thanks for the tip!
I can't believe they don't sell them anywhere, honestly.

Re: GIANT throw pillows...?
I think you will find that throw pillows, even giant ones, will not feel right. The kind of cushions you are talking about usually are not just the forms, but also wrapped, and the original form may be a denser type of material as well. You might be able to buy some batting and wrap whatever filler is inside of pillows you buy, but they may still be kind of "weak" feeling behind you guys when you sit with them.
I just saw some really big throw pillows with a cable knit on them at Target this week, and maybe also at World Market? Hope you find something that works! |
