Micro greens and Sprouts

Has anyone found growing micro greens and sprouts to be an economical option? I am not sure if the expensive seeds would be worth it compared to how much food a seed makes whe grown normally?
I live in an apartment now and have always has a sun room to use as a greenhouse for salads like kale, radishes, chard etc over the winter. I love having fresh greens at my fingertips but our community garden is closed down for the winter so I am considering trying to grow sprouts or micro greens.

I do sprouts which is SUPER easy and SUPER inexpensive. I just have a sprouting jar and buy the seeds in bulk. LOVE sprouts on my salad.

Thanks for the reply. I saw the price at the co op as sixteen too twenty dollars or pound for sprouting seeds and thought it was really high. But you feel you get enough sprouts out of the seeds that it is less expensive than buying produce at the store? I would not eliminate produce but just substitute sprouts for the more pricy organic salad stuff.

Oh wow! I pay SUBSTANTIALLY less than that for my sprouting seeds. I bought them through vitacost. But yea, a lb of seeds will last a LONG time.
