Herbs for after surgery
I'm having thyroid surgery on friday. I found a lump on my thyroid a few months ago, and the biopsy came back with "atypical cells present". They say there's a chance that it is cancerous, so they need to remove the half of the thyroid that the nodule is on, they'll test it right then, and if it is cancerous, they will remove the rest of my thyroid too. So with that being said...what kind of herbs can I take to help my body heal following surgery?

Arnica would speed healing of soft tissues.

Re: Herbs for after surgery
You could take homeopathic arnica or use arnica salve. You don't want to put the salve on broken skin but you can rub it on the soles of your feet so it can be absorbed well into your body.
I would also focus on good nutrition in order to help my body heal itself. I would consume a lot of bone broths and nourishing infusions of nettle and oatstraw and try to eat a nourishing diet low in processed foods. |
