Saturday to-do list/5 minute challenge

I can have a slow paced day at home because dh took our oldest ds skiing. I am going to try to get the following done today:

-put all Christmas decorations into the garage
-catch up with all laundry (includes putting away clothes)
-tidy the laundry room
-tidy the tv room
-tidy the spare bedroom
-take memory box piles (for 4 children) from dining room to the memory boxes
-vacuum bottom floor of the house
-spend 15 minutes tidying my walk-in closet
-purge toys from the toy closet and make it into a *mostly* Lego room
-make bread
-portion bone broth for the freezer and make soup
-*maybe* make a second pot of soup if I think we will invite company over after church tomorrow
-oh yeah, nearly forgot this one...prep for teaching Sunday School. Holidays are over.

I opted not to make a list today and instead just do things as I see them. That's different for me.
So far I am making soup.
I have exchanged and shopped for new jeans.
I Started a craft- hopefully finishing after lunch.
Planned my race schedule for 2015 and put it in my calendar with registration deadlines!

Possibly take down Christmas decorations at church

Soup is done and portioned for this weeks lunches.
Craft #1 is done.
Started a second craft but my hands can't handle cutting with the pinking sheers anymore today.
Folded some kitchen linens and put them away.
Next up is tidying the living-room.

Lol...I feel like I have been busier than just checking off one item!

RR, I feel that way sometimes, too.

Lots of things in progress but not completely done to cross it off the list.

When I feel that way, I start making more detailed to-do lists by breaking the bigger projects into smaller parts so I can have the satisfaction of crossing things off.

For example, I wouldn't write on my to-do list "clean house." I would write "dust, vacuum, wipe kitchen counters, clean kitchen sink, clean kitchen floor, swish toilet, wipe mirrors, scrub tub, clean bathroom sink" etc.
