we're grilling bison steaks and pork chops...I've got them marinating in olive oil, cracked pepper, sea salt, onion, and liquid smoke right now. I'm also going to roast fresh corn on the grill, and make a pasta salad to go with it.

Default Re: father's day dinner menus???

We're doing

-grilled salmon and steak (for my youngest son who doesn't like salmon),
-with grilled vegetables on skewers
-and salad.

My middle son is bringing over
-homemade bread

I am making my husband's favorite dessert,
-cheesecake.

Too bad oldest son can't be with us but with grown up sons, having two out of three here for dinner ain't bad!

I'm making pot roast in the slow cooker. The heat index is 106 today. I'm going to check with dh and make sure he doesn't want to grill though.

dh got a new bbq for fathers day, so we will be grilling. we are hosting fathers day for his family, so its our first little get together since we bought the house. im pretty excited. we are having shish cabobs. either beef, chicken, or shrimp, with zuchinni, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, onion, fresh pineapple and garden fresh squash(not my garden, a friends). it will be served over fancy rice(regualar rice, but cooked in chicken stock instead of water) with ranch style beans on the side. my dh's parents insisted on helping out financially for all the food, because a lot of people are coming. i cant wait until party time!!

Oh, my favorite kind of thread!
We're having quite a spread...Pot roast with carrots and potatoes, egg noodles (as if we don't have enough carbs) cole slaw, navy beans, deviled eggs, ciabatta bread and banana pudding for dessert.

ETA: for breakfast I made homemade monkey bread (dh's favorite )

We are having meatloaf, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, cornbread, and key lime pie (out of a can, I haven't figured out how to make it homemade without dairy yet... actually I haven't looked)

Each of the big girls are helping to make a different part of it. Grace helped mix the meatloaf, Jayden will smash the potatoes, and Julianna will mix up the cornbread. Evie's doing her part by napping with daddy right now

I'm making maple salmon skewers on the BBQ, grilled bell peppers, new potatoes w/ butter and green onions and a salad. Dessert yet to be determined...local strawberries are out, so maybe chocolate dipped strawberries.
