need to troubleshoot our ec journey- please weigh in
Kins is my 3rd child to be ec'ed from birth. It went really well for, well, over a year, but lately she is having poopy diapers and not peeing in the potty a whole lot. It's not a potty strike- she'll happily sit on her potty and read and read, and she even goes pee or poop on the potty sometimes (several times a day- when just waking up is our most likely success). We're just a little out-of-sync on the timing. And she won't often go anywhere but her little potty, which makes it hard in public (dd1 was like that and we carried our little potty everywhere. I'd like to avoid that again).
It's really hard with a third child because I'm just not as in tune with her, and I don't spend as much time watching her. I'm reading to dd or disciplining ds or cooking or cleaning up a spill or whatever and not just with her all the time like I was with my other kids. What I'm really hoping is that this is a quick setback before we really get it. Dd was diaper-free and accident-free at 15 months. I'd really like to get there soon with dd. Maybe I just need to tune into her more. Maybe I need to put her in underwear to force myself to tune into her more. Or maybe that would just make me frustrated with her (I am human, after all) and would be bad for our relationship. I do find myself getting frustrated with her over ec stuff and know I shouldn't be. I don't yell at her or anything but I know babies are in tune and she can probably read the disappointment on my face.

I think you are doing amazing, I so totally wanted to EC my youngest, but like everything you said, i just can't pay enough attention to her, and this winter has been really tough with colds and sickness. I don't really have any suggestions for you, just wanted to send some encouragement that you are doing awesome and try not to expect to much of yourself and her with 3 little ones!

We're right there with you....I WOULD NOT put any more pressure on yourself I'd just enjoy the journey and consciously try to pay more attn (even from across the room!) It's tricky with two olders that need us as well. I was just talking to myself this morning that it was doubtful that we'd be done at 18 mths like we were with the other two....as much as I'd
