Recipes for applesauce

I have a ton of homemade applesauce in the freezer. What can we do with it besides eat it plan. Semi chunky.

We use it as an egg sub in pancakes and brownies and we love the flavor it adds. You might have to blend it a bit though before adding it.

egg subsitute

We can have eggs fine but I like the results of using applesauce in some things like pancakes, cakes

it can also be used to substitute the oil called for in many recipes

we put it into oatmeal (both hot and refrigerator for an apple cinnamon variety)

use in place for Jam/honey in nutbutter sandwiches

mixed into Mac N cheese

we made this last week it was super yummy

Nodding to the other suggestions and adding that you can also put it in French Toast batter. And applesauce muffins are sooooo good and can be varied with seasonings and other ingredients (apple cinnamon, apple streusel, apple cranberry, caramel apple, etc.). The chunks could be mashed or blended out if you are wanting a more smooth texture in any of the above.

Do you have a good applesauce muffin recipe? I made a healthyish applesauce bread once and we weren't fans.

Oh I just made zucchini applesauce bread that was amazing. I will type it up when I have a keyboard!

Sometimes I blend it with whatever fruit my kids like as juice but won't eat whole. For example, they think canned peaches are slimy, and fresh peaches are furry, but they'll drink something like white grape-peach juice blend, so it's not the flavor...I can blend the applesauce with peaches and serve it flavored that way. Cherries, blueberries, plums, mango, any fruit you have will work pretty much.

I don't have a specific one - I usually grab something off of Pinterest. That way I can usually tell from the pic if it looks good. I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya.

the other day I subbed pureed apples for part of the water while making cream of wheat. Then I added some cinnamon. Apple cinnamon cream of wheat.

You could do this with oatmeal as well.

i sorta made that. i used 2 cups of zuk, and 2 cups whole wheat flour, and instead of oil i did pureed apples(and a touch more then 1/2 cup) (i actually blended the apples and zukes in the blender together instead of shredding the zuke) and then i did almost a full tablespoon of cinn.
