Re: Sept/Oct. Meal Planning/Freezer/Pantry Challenge!
I'll join!
My meal plan for last week fell flat because I wasn't home to serve it. For the next few months, I won't be home for dinner twice a week. On those days dh and my youngest need to leave early for an activity. I thought crock pot meals would be the answer, but I think fun meals will be needed to draw the family together. I've put a team of two dk on Monday meal service, and my 17yo will be in charge of dinner on Wednesday. Tonight the team of two will make pancakes (their choice). I just need to have the batter ready in the fridge! M: pancakes T: roasted chicken dinner W: stir fry and/or chow mien with leftover chicken T: Spaghetti with meatballs and <clean out the fridge version of...> Cobb salad F: homemade pizza, fresh veggie plate S: meal prep for Sunday and leftovers S: Tuscan soup, bread, various plates (meat, cheese, veggies, fruit) All of the meat is coming from the freezer. I might need to buy bean sprouts for the chow mien, otherwise I think I can feed the family from our stocked fridge and pantry. eta: the point of this thread is to clean out the pantry...so I think I will have dd make a stir-fry/chow mien hybrid so I won't need to buy any more ingredients.

Re: Sept/Oct. Meal Planning/Freezer/Pantry Challenge!
I'm still working on this.
We eat primarily whole foods, so I have to still regularly shop for all our fresh fruits, veggies, dairies, etc. BUT I am trying to minimize everything else. I have a freezer full of meat that I'm working through. And a pantry full of other items that I'm trying to take in to consideration when I do meal planning.

Re: Sept/Oct. Meal Planning/Freezer/Pantry Challenge!
Today is Taco Tuesday, and I've been out of taco shells for weeks
The store where I get them (the only store I can find ones that meet our needs) isn't close, and I haven't made it there for over 2 months. Was hoping to get there this week.

I have a pretty empty pantry and freezers that need filling. I've never been a "stock up" person. I'm reading along.

Re: Sept/Oct. Meal Planning/Freezer/Pantry Challenge!
My meal plan ran out Sunday, but because each day has a meal type assigned to it, we're doing ok.
