instead of a crock pot/slow cooker

As much as I love the idea of the pre prepped slow cooker meals, my family and I just do not like the textures and flavors of foods prepared this way. After years of experiementing with different methods and times and settings and even buying a whole new pot, I have concluded that the only things we should make in our slow cooker are pot roast and chili.

I still see so many slow cooker recipes that sound like they would be good though. Can you make recipes for the slow cooker in anything else, like maybe a dutch oven or a pressure cooker? Anyone experimented with this?

I agree, I especially hate the taste and texture of crock pot chicken! I have tossed many crock pot recipes in a dutchoven

I am so glad to hear my family is not the only one who has this issue! I pretty much use my crock pot to make souls and chili.

I have successfully used my Dutch oven in the past but don't like to do that now unless I am going to be home because I'm not comfortable leaving our gas oven on when no one is home.

I made baked potatoes in my crock today. Barely any water. They were delicious. Have you googled non traditional crock recipes? Rice turns out amazing too.

I do make baked potatoes in mine occasionally. I like them, everyone else fussed about how the potatoes inside have a slightly orange tint to them. I think I'm just kind of over experimenting and trying new recipes in mine TBH. The wasted food and effort and the mess of cleaning the thing ugh
