Talk to me about yeast cleanse
DD2 has all sorts of issues, but I feel like the underlying one is probably yeast. She gets chronic constipation that causes fecal soiling (happened several years ago, we did a bowel cleanse with magnesium citrate and it went away. It came back again recently when I started letting the kids have dairy again, but it seems to have stopped after doing the MC again ), and recently she's started having pee accidents. She's 8 so it's concerning to me.
She use to be my best eater, eating almost all vegetarian. however, now she hardly ever eats veggies, and lives mainly off oranges, tomatoes, and snippets of dinners I make. She is constantly saying she's hungry, even if she just ate (literally. She could be putting the last food in her mouth saying she's full, then 1 minute later saying she's starving. ). I know she doesn't get enough protein, but there is nothing I can get her to eat. She use to snack on almonds all the time, but won't touch them now...unless they are candied. That's the other thing.. she craves juice, carbs/starches, and sugar/candy. I obviously don't give her those things, but she beeeeeegggggs for them like they are a drug. Then she'll give up and eat an orange. Some other symptoms are: ~ rages, much more when she's hungry. We rush to feed her if she's hungry. ~ itchy bum. We thought maybe pinworms again, but when we treated us all last time, she was the only one that never had the itchy bum part go away. It finally did on it's own, but it back. I'm hesitant to treat it as pinworms without knowing for sure though. One thing I thought it could be is diabetes. I have a lab slip that I never fulfilled, to have blood work done on her. Would that check for diabetes, or would we have to do something like the glucose test in pregnancy? All that to say, we try to do GAPS and fail since my kids have SUCH limited pallets, and I think gut issues are the root. I feel if we do a yeast cleanse it could solve some of the issues above. So how is this done for kids? And good links or advice? I'm interested in hearing your stories too.
