My vegetarian wants to go Vegan and I don't think I can do it.

My 10 year old dd is a vegetarian and has been for quite some time. (she has been strict for 7 months now, wasn't a vegetarian the previous 5 months though still didn't eat a lot of meat and just chicken when she did, then was strict the previous 12 months).

She wants to be a Vegan because even just not eating meat still isn't being kind to animals. Eggs are baby chicks, cows don't like to be milked all the time like they are.

I am in school full time for another 8 months, plus I work, plus I know nothing about Vegan-ism. I told her not this year, I don't have it in me to figure it out. Make special meals, etc.

She keeps mentioning it though. Not in a bugging - let me do it way, just in a conversational way. Talks about Veganism. And I want to support her passion and her desire to be kind to animals.

I told her maybe she can be a Vegan-tarian. Not quite a full vegan. Maybe baby steps. She doesn't want to give up yogurt (yay) anyway and honestly eggs are so easy and she can make them herself and I said well, if you get eggs from free range chickens - those are happy chickens and the eggs are not fertilized so they really can't grow be baby chicks if you didn't eat them.

So if you were transitioning from Vegetarianism to Vegan what little tiny steps would you do first from a animal kindness stand point (as opposed to a being Vegan for health reasons stand point)? Maybe give her something to focus on; have her feel she is making a difference.
