He Is Risen!
Good morning! Happy Easter.
I am up before everyone else, drinking my coffee (6:00am EST). Once everyone wakes up we will watch Easter Service. I need to figure out how to stream it on our new TV. Details I have muffins made (chocolate chip and lemon cranberry and the hard boiled eggs my peeps decorated) for breakfast, with fruit We have 1 big meal to cook and then just crackers, cheese, cold meats, etc for snack food. My baskets ended being bigger than I planned after I got some ideas here and then had time to order or saw the jerky at Meijer. Details The origami money ended up being a big of an ordeal and dh had a little mini- fight over it. So we just ended up being them into eggs. Eggs are hidden - none on the ground due to the puppy. Tangent It may rain but hopefully we can get a walk in with the dogs. And at 7pm we plan to watch Jesus Christ Superstar on NBC.

He is Risen, Indeed!!
Our service is at 9:15 (streamed) and we are doing a big lunch. Supposed to rain here- so we will probably be stuck inside.

Christ is Risen Indeed!!!! Hallelujah!!!!
I have easter baskets out for the kids (pair of pjs and a small box of candy). We will stream the Resurrection Sunday service together at 10:45. We are having a salmon dinner today -- that's our tradition. Based on the biblical account that the first thing Jesus ate after his resurrection was fish.

We are watching a streaming service at 11. I'm planning to enjoy having the next couple of hours to myself as all my teens will likely sleep in until church. I'll make some German sourdough pancakes and spend some quiet time with the Lord. Dh will get home as the service is ending. We thought about waiting and watching it when he gets home, but then we can't participate with comments in real time. Also, he isn't super fond of church services so it's possible we'd wait and he'd barely watch anyway. Once he gets home, he'll start the smoker. We're having baby back ribs and I'm making baked potatoes and a salad to go with them. I might make beans too. My oldest dd and her husband are coming to eat and we'll zoom call with my mom and stepdad. We are going to sing King of Kings for them while my son-in-law plays guitar. We opened our empty tomb and read the resurrection story. We had made the overnight resurrection cookies but due to the humidity they didn't turn out this year. We've done baskets and a very quick egg hunt - we did it in the backyard and it started raining. We had hot cross buns. We will join our church's streaming service at 11. I'm hoping to skype with relatives later and then we're having chicken, which is not a tradition, but was on sale...

We did our Easter egg hunt with picters in the eggs this year my daddy asked if he could video chatt with the girls while they served for there 14 eggs. I think it would have made me sick to watch the crazy juggling but he loved it. I am goin to salt the chicken and then clean up then we will watch/ listen to service. We have storms coming for hours this afternoon till around midnight, so have been rushing our morning stuff so we can be ready. I didn't have eggs for the kids this year, so I did a clue hunt through the house for them leading to their baskets. I also cut out loads of construction paper eggs for them to decorate in recent days and surprised them by hanging them on the mantle last night. The girls loved their baskets. Each got two Reese's eggs and a Kinder Joy so we have candy limited enough to have to talk about it for days on end. |

We had a service in our cars in our parking lot, broadcasted on the radio. A few songs "together" and a sermon. A service we will all remember , sitting in our cars with our windows up. chocolate bunnies for my kids and some eggs to hide. Going to make brownies. And home made pizza. A weird easter dinner for weird times.
