Should I keep these boxes???
Help me to not overthink this
I work remotely, and have for almost a year now (though I've been with this company for over seven years). I have no intention to leave this job and no indication that things will change on my employer's end. Obvious disclaimer that anything could happen at any time aside, should I be hanging onto the boxes that all of my computer equipment came in? We're not super-squeezed for space, but the boxes are not insubstantial either: configured in their smallest way it's still the size of a small ottoman or large storage tote. They're just...in the way, and I'm going back and forth on making the effort to find a permanent place for them. We do not have a garage or an attic, and have very few closets. We do have storage in the loft of our rustic cabin in the woods, but would need to cover the boxes in a pest-proof way.

Re: Should I keep these boxes???
If you leave and your company is likely to send you new prepaied boxes to mail it back to them.
That what was supposed to happen when Dh left hai Austin job. They completely dropped the ball and after 3 months I'd having it after leaving ( with client data about upcoming patent applications) he finally got some one to tell him an address to mail it back to and we payed for it and made them send us a notice of receipt back because they had dropped the ball on so many things Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk ---------- Post added at 10:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:13 PM ---------- So I vote get rid of the boxes. Re: Should I keep these boxes???
No I wouldn't keep them. If you need to send the equipment back you can pay the UPS store to pack it and then you won't be responsible for damage from improper packing. I think it'd be worth the money.

Re: Should I keep these boxes???
The only way I'd even consider keeping them is if you had an extra out of the way unused storage space -- like a shed or attic or crawl space. Which you said you don't. So absolutely I would break them down and recycle them.

Re: Should I keep these boxes???
And that totally makes sense about having UPS or FedEx package them if they ever need to be returned

Re: Should I keep these boxes???
Another vote for not keeping them! It is easier to return them in newer boxes since you do not really have space for them.
