Float Tank
Sensory Deprivation or Isolation tank. Anyone have experience or opinions on these? I want to try it but not 100% sold on the idea.

Re: Float Tank
I've never been able to do it but it sounds completely amazing to me. If I had money I would get one of the home tanks.

Re: Float Tank
I wish I had the guts to try it but I panic at the idea of being closed into the tank. There is a business that sells sessions and it's been a strongly suggested for me and my D.C.

Re: Float Tank
I get nervous at the idea of a "near hypnotic" feeling that I keep seeing in reference & I've read that some people have hallucinations. I personally think, without those two ideas, it sounds amazing. Anyone ever do it?

Re: Float Tank
I've wanted to try one out for a long time (every since I saw the parents in Phineas and Ferb using one in their basement ) I'd love to find a local place to try one out for a few sessions! I'm so bad at being able to quiet my thoughts I think that would be my main goal. I'm definitely claustrophobic but I'd give it a try!

Here the the one local to me if it's helpful finding one near you And the FAQ says even extreme claustrophobia should be fine but I can't seem to make an appointment http://floatmilwaukee.com/faq/

Re: Float Tank
I have a bunch of friends who LOVE it, and go regularly. One is very claustrophobic, but she loves it, too. You can leave the lid open so that you're not totally enclosed.
It doesn't sound appealing to me, so I haven't really looked into it...but friends are constantly posting about how amazing it is!

Re: Float Tank
The one that I looked at near me isn't really a tank. It's like a pool in a little room. I've always enjoyed floating face down in a pool but that's hard to do without freaking people out.

Re: Float Tank
My husband wanted to do it for our anniversary. I want to pay for him to do it but honestly the thought make my anxiety spike. He feels it's a waste of money just for him.

Re: Float Tank
I've often thought this idea sounded wonderful! So many days with everyone trying to talk to me and no time to think or relax or anything. I had no idea there were places one could go to do this.
