Just wondering.

Mine was insanely loud!

Goodness no, mine is so much quieter than our old washer. I can't hear it upstairs when it's running.

Wow!

I did have smell issues but what I hated daily was that it was so loud! Always was.

Wish I'd realized that the first week I had it, could have taken it back and avoided all these years of hoping it would die.

Doesn't matter now, I finally have a new top loader!!

hhmmm, I wish I had realized the noise was not normal the first week I had it (6.5 yrs ago), would have saved a lot of hate. It just had a really really really loud motor.

Doesn't matter now, I have a new top loader!!!

Had smell issues off and on too.

Ours is pretty quiet (quieter than a top loader) unless the feet are not right or the load is unbalanced. If we shut the door and it's on the spin cycle, it's hard to determine what the sound is or where it is coming from.

We only really have front loaders here. My last one was incredibly loud but my new one is so quiet. I think some makes are quiter than others.

We've had our front loading LG for several years--- it's pretty quiet & We've never dealt with the "stink" problem, either

I've had a front loader for 10ish years and really like it. I'm actually on my second one because we moved and they put our first one in the move deal. Neither of mine ever have stunk. I guess it is a little loud only in the end spin cycle?

Mine was not a "little loud" it was REALLY loud!

Like Ruth said, we only have front loaders so I haven't experienced the awesome quietness of top loaders, but my parents' house had Miele washing machine and various visitors kept commenting how quiet it is.

I think I'd be struggling to look beyond Miele if we are to get washing machine for our home we close to closing sale on.
