Spring HBC?
Anyone interested in doing a Spring Cleaning Home Blessing Challenge? I'm thinking maybe a spurt of one, 3 or 6 weeks?
I'd be willing to put it together. I need the motivation and if I create it and am responsible for being the hostess on here, it will probably kick my butt in gear. |

Re: Spring HBC?
Rachel, it is awesome that you are willing to take on the HBC. Have you also been following the HTCI threads? I would be interested in an HBC that can work with HTCI. Weeklies and dailies could be modelled after HBCs of the past, but maybe challenges could be seasonal and/or HTCI related? Just a thought. A lot of people are committed to the HTCI, but regular and seasonal chores need to be done, too.

HTCI?
nvm: found the other thread. Well, if no one wants to, that's fine. I don't have the funds to get another book right now and learn a whole new method. Last edited by pirandellian; 03-18-2014 at 08:14 AM. |

Re: Spring HBC?
Here is the book: http://www.mindystarnsclark.com/house.php
Often ladies will post pictures of their new cleaning solutions, so monthly threads have been in the picture sub-forum of Joyous Housekeeping. A recap is in the beginning of the February thread. The threads get long. If you want an idea of how it works, the February thread is a good place to start. ---------- Post added at 08:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:17 AM ---------- I don't think you would have to buy another book. I think broad enough challenges can be made to serve both purposes, and draw in a larger crowd.

Re: Spring HBC?
I would be interested. I'm not sure if I want to do the other one. It took me awhile to get used to HBC, I'm not sure if I want to try and learn another system.

Re: Spring HBC?
I would join! No promises about doing it all (therefore I probably won't win ) because we are in the process of moving, but it would definitely help organize me!

Re: Spring HBC?
I would be inetersted in joining in... though my track record is such that I'll probably peter out after a few weeks.
I think the HTCI idea sounds interesting. Am I wrong, or are you only talking about using some of those concepts as challenges? Maybe we could have two challenges each week instead of one? Example, on challenge being of the standard HBC sort, and the other could be from HTCI? Just thinking out loud here. ---------- Post added at 01:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:15 PM ---------- Cross posted! 3 weeks at a time sounds great to me! How many weeks total are you thinking about?

Re: Spring HBC?
I'm good with 3 weeks at time, or even just a mini HBC for 3 weeks!

Re: Spring HBC?
I think I'd want to do a three week burst. I know after a while we just had a master list of challenges, and you could pick two for each week. The petering out is a problem that I know I deal with! I'm going to look at some of the old HBC's and see what might work. I don't know what the HTCI things are like, so I wouldn't be incorporating them. We could add it as an additional part though! |

Re: Spring HBC?
I haven't read the HTCI book yet, but I CAN wrap my head around what to expect with the HBC. I only mentioned the HTCI because so many women are already engaged in that. Considering this forum is accessible to all members, it would be nice to have the HBC here. This is the type of event that pulled me from being a lurker to posting on GCM. I'll join for 3 weeks.

Re: Spring HBC?
I will join.
I have been doing some on the HTCI stuff. Here's the Campbell's condensed version: It's simply about setting up areas in your home to work FOR you and thus they then naturally keep themselves cleaner. It can easily fit into HBC routines, like maybe for a challenge. It's not a daily routine or even a cleaning routine. Either way, I am fine with good old HBC stuff too.
