DH soon to be home for 3 days at a time
DH has worked a min of 5 12-hour days for 9 years, and often has to work weekends (straight through 12 days) and/or 14+ hours. He's changing to a new position in the company that will have him working only 4 days a week (compensation for working every weekend Fri-Mon) and he should only have to work 11 hours a day! This is awesome but I'm not used to "normal people" life, i.e., having DH around so much.
When DH has days off now, I lose ground with housekeeping as I feel like I'm off too! I can't take every evening off, let alone 3 solid days! I'm still going to be the one doing the housework, finances, shopping, etc. How do you keep on track when there's someone bent on relaxing constantly in your sightline? I'm not resentful, just easily lured into lounging. I'll be cooking more on his 3 days off as well as DH probably won't be happy with "snacky lunch" like the kids are.

Re: DH soon to be home for 3 days at a time
My dh used to have four days on, four days off. It was tough at times. Do you have a loose schedule? Can you plan your week around doing the easier jobs or jobs you find the least unpleasant? Then you can get those out of the way and feel like you can veg. I have only just started following a schedule and it has helped the flow. I do one room per day so you could choose the easier rooms.
AFA lunch, I tried making more at dinner the night before so there were leftovers. And now I buy dh some of his pop in the microwave kind of meals for days when we are having snacky lunches. Just FYI from years of that shift, I found that the day before my dh went back was the toughest day bc he was a little more on edge knowing he had to go back. I would plan on less that day if your dh is like mine. He liked to sit and drink coffee with me and liked the calmer atmosphere.
