Three weeks since I started the kitchen, and now I'm done. I've neglected the family room in all that time and today I could see a layer of dust on the floor. In my defence, the rooms that I've cleaned I have maintained.

Harvesting season has started. Yesterday I put 12 pies in the freezer.

It’s my first week off 3 days and so far I’ve prepped our kitchen to paint and prepped and painted my bathroom. Tomorrow my friend is coming to help paint the kitchen. This is all me cuz Dh can’t do anything and it feel so really really good. It’s been way way too long and things got nasty.

I’m just refreshing existing colors so it’s not horribly difficult to pain butnthe cleaning and prep work has been ALOT. We’ve only spent $20 so far.

But Dh is purchasing a new hood for the stove tomorrow since our old one was disgusting. That was te one thing we really wanted to replace.

The kids have been helping but mostly ds as Dd2 hurt her foot.

In the process of cleaning our blinds I broke two and ds broke one light pkare removing them to be cleaned and to paint.

After tomorrow our downstairs will be almost entirely painted this year. I have one wall in our den and one spot in our family room we didn’t do. I may or may not leave them. the kids did those rooms for us this winter.

It’s a bit of a let down to have the same color but we couldn’t afford paint too. And this is so much easier.

I’ve never done an entire room myself because my Dh used to do everything I’m suoer proud of myself

The cleaning and soackling and taping and repairing drywall is so much work. Harder than the painting and my body is killing me. It will be easier to go back to work Thursday

I have been cleaning this week. I hauled a whole black garbage bag of junk out of the basement (old coloring pages and toy packagings that my kids thought that they needed to keep) and swept and mopped and now the kids have had a nice cool basement to play in during the hot weather we have been having. i also at the same time made sure all the boys toys fit in their toy boxes and went through their drawers and took out all the clothes that don't fit any more. And re-sorted all the extras in the walk in closet so they are in boxes and labeled again.

Today I started cleaning out the home school shelf getting out the old books and putting the ones for this coming year in. I am not done that yet. I need to get on it though as I'd like to get my written plan for the school board done before school starts.

I did it! My kitchen is painted, all my counters are cleaned off and I reorganized everything!

Next week, I want to repaint my bathroom cupboards but I have to wait and decide if I can pull it off. Before Labor Day id like to finish my bathroom (paint cupboards and replace the floor).

Good work, ladies!

I dusted the entire house today and washed the guest sheets and put them back on the bed. I didn't get as much done today as I wish, but there's always tomorrow, I guess. I'm going to wash the dishes before I go to bed so I don't have to look at a gross kitchen in the morning.

Today I've managed to dust and vacuum the house. Its not been done for a week as our business has gone nuts and we are working 18 hour days.

But I feel so much better having done just that!

I vacuumed the house (after having to go to the store to buy a new vacuum since my vacuum cratered ), I wiped up the kitchen and cleaned two bathrooms. I also did the clothes laundry and balanced the checkbook and had dh take a bunch of stuff to donate.

It must be the season for vacuums. I had to buy one yesterday too, and I noticed at least who others being purchased before I left the store.

I personally do a lot more cleaning/organizing in summer . I understand the concept of spring cleaning historically and it appeals cuz the weather change but I知 too busy. I知 taking advantage of a light school load to do as much as I can before fall is in full swing

I've always been more a summer cleaner myself, feeling like preparing to nest in when/if the cold finally comes, requires some work.

Dd1 is working on her room. My mom-heart is happy.
