Re: My tips for soft, chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Well now read this tho:
http://www.ehow.com/how_10302_make-chocolate-chip.html Gosh it seems there are a 100 ideas for softer cookies! I have tho heared this one bout the applesauce, infact I've heared use applesauce and brown sugar for softer cookies. I really wouldn't know tho because yes I really am the only mother on Earth that does not know how nor has tried to make CC cookies yet. But when I do get the ready made dough from the store, like the Phillsbury dough........yuck I hate em and rarely eat the cookies.....but I do do that trick of taking them outta the oven when the mere edges are firming but the center is gooey and then let them quick cool in a cool area, like near a window. This really does leave them soft! And thats the only way my dc'll eat them otherwise they just beg for the dough alone. Every holiday season I tell dh NOT to buy that ready made dough, heck just buy already made cookies then! But he always does. I hate that stuff...it just oozes with preservatives n all, kwim? lol Anyways thanx for the tips, I'm gonna make a buncha cookies here soon!

Re: My tips for soft, chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
I use the normal amount of flour but use 100% whole wheat flour and real butter straight from the fridge--or sometimes even from the freezer. If you use frozen butter, cut it up first and be prepared for it to take ahwile in the mixer. I used to let my butter get to room temperature and the cookies would get so flat! Now that I use it cold plus use whole wheat flour, they turn out great. All the neighborhood kids (who aren't used to things made with whole grains) think my cookies are AWESOME and they can't even tell I use whole wheat.

Re: My tips for soft, chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Wow, lots of tips! I found my cookies are flatter when I use WW so I've stuck with Bob's unbl flour for cookies. I use the recipe on the Hershey's bag and let the kids snack on some of them so that 2/3 of the bag goes into the dough. Cook 'em on pampered chef rectangular pans until edges are *just* beginning to brown and remove. Let sit a couple of minutes and transfer to cooling rack. Gooey in the middle, crispy edges. Awesome.
I wanna make cookies!

Re: My tips for soft, chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
just started using whole wheat flour and that really does make a difference like what was said.
i usually take the amount of sugar and half it with brown sugar. and im sure not to overmix the dough. or you can put some oatmeal in the blender and make it fine like flour and add that to the flour. |

Re: My tips for soft, chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
I was getting so confused by all the tips that I copied and pasted them all onto a Word Document so I had them all in one list. I can't wait to try these!
