Thanks, everyone.

We're going down tonight, and I've let the kids know that first thing tomorrow morning they are going to have to look for the phone. I suspect it's between a mattress and box spring or hidden inside toys in the back of a closet. We'll see!

If it doesn't show up and I can get a used phone for under $100 to tide me over until it's time to upgrade? The two older girls can easily afford to pay for that. Number 3 can chip in what she's able, or work for me. I think it'll be a good lesson.

Praying you find it.

And they should pay for for a week of lost use.

These are not 5 year olds. An 11 year old knows not to touch stuff. I did at 11 and it's not punitive to ask them to contribute to buying a new one.

My 10 year old recently grabbed my iPhone without permission, dropped it and smashed the screen. $80 to fix and he's working hard to raise $60 of that.

Find my iPhone isn't an app. It is a feature that can be disabled though. If it was enabled, you can go to icloud.com from any device or PC and use it that way. If the battery is dead it will show the last location. It won't narrow down where in a house it is though, so there is that.

I got a used iPhone 4 for ds for $50. That seems to be the going rate on ebay and sale groups for that model. 4s might be a few bucks more. Replacing a $700 uninsured newer model would be out of reach (even the insurance on my 6s has a $200 deductible), but luckily it's an older model and something they can work towards helping replace.

I've been meaning to hop on and update.

I found my phone!

We got to the beach house late Friday night so when the kids got up Saturday morning, I had them start looking. We tore everything apart - looked between the mattresses of EIGHT beds, took the cushions off of and moved FOUR sofas, got dumb guest soaps dropped on my toes when I checked the linen closet. GAH! I even looked under area rugs! We spent at least three hours Saturday morning looking for the dumb thing. And you're never going to believe where I finally found it - as a last ditch effort I double checked Noodle's backpack, and there it was! We had it the whole time. She had checked that particular pocket the previous week, and I know I checked it, too. It's an iPhone 5, so the slimmer model, (I was wrong before) and has a black case. She had a stuffed animal in that pocket, the pocket was black, and I guess we both just missed it somehow. Noodle was extremely apologetic, but now says she "was framed." HAH!

I enabled Find My iPhone so that I can find it next time, so that's good.
