DH and DS1 are sick, so I made chicken noodle soup

Only bummer was, I used a ton of onion and garlic for their health-building properties...but they also gave the soup a sweet flavor. I have a huge sweet tooth, but I do *not* want chicken noodle soup to be sweet in any way. It should be 100% salty/savory, not slightly sweet.

Thats what we had last night too!

Served over jasmine rice for the kids and over roasted cabbage for dh and i.

I love this recipe! DH usually BBQ's our fish, but the lemon butter and crispy shallots....Mmmmmmm!

Thank you! That does look good! I was thinking of grilling as long as the rain holds off... when your dh grills the fish steaks does he put them directly on the grate or does he put them on foil?

No foil, just on the grate. He likes to try to make perfect grill lines

Tonight we're having Lemon Garlic Grilled Shrimp, Grilled Asparagus and Zucchini Salad with a Lemon and Basil Vinaigrette, roasted riced cauliflower with caramelized shallots, and some sort of bread I'm still thinking about.

Tonight we are doing corned beef and cabbage. Dh will be gone next week. The girls and I will enjoy the leftovers as hash then.

Ok i think i now may have a new fave fish. Oh. My. Wow! Halibut is amazing.

I was going to grill it but then decided it was far too cold outside, so i did an asian inspred baked recipe. Amazingly delicious!

We had Italian beef & cabbage last night...so easy and so delicious.

Tonight my BIL and SIL will be here and I think I'm going to make an old recipe of my mom's, "Savory Chicken Breasts" (which is such a dumb name because it tells you almost nothing!). I haven't had/made it in years...but it really is delicious

Chicken breasts, top each with a slice of provolone or Swiss, dump cream of chicken soup + milk over it all, top with Stove Top stuffing mix and pour melted butter over the top.
