Home testing kit for MTHFR?
Has anyone used a home testing kit for MTHFR testing? The site my dr. recommended has discontinued home kits and the only other one I've found was $150. He wants us all to be tested so that would be a bit cost-prohibitive...

You can test on directions.com. It's more like $50.

Re: Home testing kit for MTHFR?
I did the ancestry one and sent it into promethease. It ended up being $110 total I think for it all.
As an alternative, if you're willing to put in the time, I of Mich has a Genes for Good app on Facebook. You have to answer a slew of questionnaires the. Do health screening quizzes daily for a week. After that they'll send you a DNA kit and read your genes for no cost. Then you can download you raw data and pay for promethease or nutrahacker.

Re: Home testing kit for MTHFR?
I did 23andme and it was $99. Then I paid $5 to another site to interpret the raw data.
Just FYI, it's the rabbit hole of all rabbit holes. |

and I meant to type directlabs.com (stupid autocorrect) so, it's actually $150 on directlabs personally, I would do 23andme and get all the rest of the info too. Ask for it as a Christmas present...personally I think it's more valuable info and beats any other gift!! You can start with just you and your dh.

I think I got 23andme on cyber weekend. It's worth looking then to see if the price drops to $99.
