grain free vegetarian??

I'd love to use more pulses and beans and a little less meat just to reduce food costs a little (maybe - veggies are getting so expensive too) but we eat grain free which complicates the issue. Also since we have damaged digestive systems I try to pre-soak beans and lentils as per Weston Price to make them easier to digest. Can anyone point me in the right direction I just don't know where to start. Thanks

I think you could do it, especially if you're willing to eat potatoes or sweet potatoes and winter squashes.

Split pea soup is easy. Veggie burgers are also great where you use the veggie patty as the bun and put veggies in between the patties- no bun needed.

There are so many soups, chilis & stews that don't require grains. Curries, too, if you don't serve over rice.

I've been meaning to pick up the Oh She Glows cookbook from the library. I think she says that 85% of her recipes are gluten free, so I'm hoping that many of them are grain free or easily modified to be grain free. Here's her website for ideas.

I really love Robin Robertson's Fresh From the Vegetarian Slow Cooker (not vegan slow cooker -- that's a different book). There are quite a few vegan, grain free recipes there.

I have Oh She Glows! I really like it but I don't know how well it would work for grain-free (gluten-free would be fine, but grain-free would be hard).

You're welcome. But since you're thinking library and not buying it, I'd still get it. There will be things in there you can make, so it's worth it if you're not paying for the book.

I frequently do curries with cauliflower rice.
