I just saw that it popped up in my black Friday deals! I am going to get it and I really hope I actually use it regularly...lol Would you mind sharing why this is better than a standard pressure cooker on a stove?

I'll be honest. I have no clue.

I have never used a standard pressure cooker on a stove.

However, I use and LOVE my IP. It gets used multiple times a week at minimum.

I love that I can also use it to sautee. And slow cook. In addition to the pressure cooker function. It makes most dinner preps truly one pot.

Oh yes! I looked at other pressure cookers, and this is the part that eliminated all other options for me.

Tho possibly you have one that doesn't have a coated lining...

I have a standard pressure cooker - I can use it as a regular pot on the stove, without using the pressure function. Using it as a pressure cooker requires that I regulate the pressure via the valve and use a separate timer, and utilize a burner. I'd love to get an IP just so that I don't have to worry about bringing the pot up to pressure and the timing.
