Default My 21-month-old is limping and I'm worried

He's been crabby all day, but also keeps gumming his hand and trying to fight his siblings, so I chalked it up to teeth.

I noticed earlier he was walking funny, but thought maybe his daddy put his diaper on too tight.

But by the evening, I realized he was definitely favoring his left leg. His right is almost giving out on him and he can't walk or run very well.

I googled, and I guess it's common and this just happens sometimes? Either that or it's something horrible .

I don't know what to do. He's going to sleep with his daddy right now, but if he's still limping tomorrow I guess I should call the doc. And she'll probably want an x-ray because she always jumps to that.

Any advice? And could you say a prayer for him?

for your little guy and for you to know how to proceed. My ds did have a broken let this summer... he limped and then didn't limp and then limped and then didn't limp for quite a while. We x-rayed after 5 days, and they didn't spot anything. He walked around on it for 2 more weeks before we did another x-ray and found the recalcification spot and thus a break (2 actually). Toddler fractures are pretty common with little ones. Ds best little buddy also had a fracture and cast at the same time. I hope and pray that this is not what you're dealing with, but if it is just remember God made them to hear FAST!!

Thanks.

It's strange, because he doesn't seem to be in pain. He was nursing and pushing his right leg up against my arm, and was fine.

Do you have a chiropractor?

When my under-two-year-old jumped down from her brother's top bunk bed she was limping, too. I called my chiro and took her in for an adjustment. If she continued limping after the adjustment, I was going to take her into the doc. Our chiro saw that her knee needed some work, and her hip, but after the adjustment, she was walking just fine.

Praying for your little guy!

You know, we do have a fabulous chiropractor who we don't see regularly, but she did see Daniel when he was first born. I think I'll give her a call tomorrow. I had completely forgotten!

Our chiropractor's number was disconnected, which is a little disturbing, so I went ahead and called the doc, but he was walking fine before our appointment so we canceled. Today he's doing great. Thanks for the advice and prayers!
