What to do with Jicama
If you know of anything else, please add! I love them in this recipe, but not sure what else to use them for..
peel skin & cut up 2 med jicama into bite sized chunks. To save mess, dump them in a gallon plastic bag. roll around 2 pomegranetes (to break up some of the "seeds"), cut into quarters & squeeze juice and "seeds" into bag of jicama. scrape seeds into bag to be sure you get them all (i don't use the white parts tho) let it sit in fridge 24-48 hrs snap fresh green beans, put in boiling water for a few min to cook but leave crunchy, put them straight into cold water to stop the cooking add green beans and walnuts to the jicama/pomegranete mix mmmm...so bright and crunchy!! |

Peel and slice them up, sprinkle with lime juice and chili-salt.

Re: What to do with Jicama
slice up raw, and dip in ranch dressing, or sour cream dill, onion dip, or anything creamy that you would use for chips and dip.

Re: What to do with Jicama
When I lived in California and could get jicama, we used to peel it and chop it up into bite sized pieces to add to green salads. Crunchy, cool and sweet!

Re: What to do with Jicama
I cannot find the recipe right now, but I have made a salad with jicama - diced or chopped, orange, cilantro, and lemon or lime juice.
