I never thought to use quinoa with spaghetti, just stir fry. I will have to try that! Sounds good.

I didn't either, till I didn't have rice cooked, was almost out of pasta, and had quinoa in the freezer I've used it anywhere I'd normally use rice and we really like it!

I order through a co-op. We order a case at a time so we each get a bottle for about $10 less than the individual price. The gel/liquid is a much better value than the capsules.

Ok... Explain to me about the benefits of fermented cod liver oil. Why spend that money and what does it benefit compared to other healthy foods?

I got mine through a coop as well, but you can get it from Green Pasture's website. If you can find a WAPF chapter near you, try contacting the leader (info will be on the WAPF website under find a chapter) and see if they order in bulk. Leaders get a small discount to order for their area, but not all take advantage of it. I contacted a leader 5 hours away from me, and she acted like she never even heard of the product, hehe. Quote:
Some of us are using it as well to combat tooth decay in conjunction with the high vitamin butter oil in a similar way to how Weston Price improved the overall health and teeth of school children by introducing this combo into their diets in the...30s? Basically it's like taking a preventative medicine every day - supports a lot of facets of health and the immune system along with eating well. There are super lengthy articles if you google for them, but I skim. Someone else can add to this of course.

We second the cinnamon being good and the chocolate is beyond disgusting. This reminds me I need to order more....

My children LOVE the cinnamon stuff even though they've watched me choke the stuff down (first trimester queasiness and all). A friend of mine has no trouble at all getting her children to take both the cinnamon and the chocolate I just haven't opened the chocolate one we have yet.

Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
Mine came with a syringe that you stick on the top of the bottle and fill up to your desired amount. You just squirt it into the mouth. I like hitting my tongue because I love the cinnamon flavour, but you could just squirt it straight back and swallow! I hate the butter oil one. I only seem to like the flavour of butter if it's melted. So I just take a scoop, throw it in my mouth, and swallow with water like it's a pill. If it's a huge problem though, you could always mix it with something. Do you do smoothies? Just throw the oil in there.

Just as an update, I've been much more strict with C about dairy (although we had a slip up Monday night that I suspect underlies her hayfever symptoms today). We're also doing gluten-lite the past week or so in preparation to go strictly gluten free with her for February. I'll be keeping packaged foods to a minimum, so it won't be too hard to avoiding MSG at the same time. In other news, I made coconut milk-chia seed pudding last night and I can't get enough of that texture!

Re: D. R. P. T. ! (dietary revamp processing thread ;) )
Missina, do you have a reason why you didn't get the FCLO/BO combination? That's the bottle I got. And I didn't get a syringe.
I got the capsules because I'm a chicken. I know it's like twice the price but I wanted to just try them out, anyway. I still haven't opened up the cinnamon |
