Re: Path of Totality...
MOS and MC, I also didn't watch. I didn't care and if I am honest a tiny piece of me was scared that I'd ruin my vision even with eclipse glasses There's always 2024 lol

Re: Path of Totality...
We went up the the museum that had the planitarium. They had all these teliscops set up projecting it. And had two solar teliscops set up. We made a pin whole viewer. Early bird had a mess sweater and we could use.
A lady let the girls look through her glasses before I could get to them and stop them. Early bird really wanted to and I had been saying no. It was for less than 3 seconds but I was still slightly unhappy about that. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Re: Path of Totality...
They're cool. Just want to be sure to say I didn't take those, someone at the university did and posted them. They are a good illustration of just how quickly it got dark.
---------- Post added at 10:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:51 AM ---------- Glad everyone who wanted to see it got the opportunity. I know I enjoyed totality a lot more than I expected - it was shockingly beautiful. Sharing it with my kids was really special. If you didn't want to see it, guess it's a good thing it didn't last long and you could just stay inside and go about your normal life.

Re: Path of Totality...
I'm still in awe. My life has shifted . It's like something inside of me shifted. I'm planning to get to the path of totality in 2024. We got one pair of glasses for yesterday.
Dd1 and I also got headaches and were outside the entire time. I'm still having eye fatigue . Our coverage was 83% Thanks for pics cj and for everyone sharing their experiences

Re: Path of Totality...
I'm still sad I didn't see the total eclipse. But it just didn't make sense. I am on the path of totality for 2045. I could also drive 1900 miles to get to it in 2024, but it probably won't work out.

Re: Path of Totality...
We are planning to drive to TX or OH for 2024. Wish we had driven the two hours to totality.

Re: Path of Totality...
I really wish we had driven the two hours from here as well. Seems like such a short distance to witness something so spectacular! But we did enjoy the 96%. Just regret not making the trip, though, after the parts I did see yesterday!

Re: Path of Totality...
We only had like 82%, but it was super neat to see. I used cardstock and a hole to see it from my office.

Re: Path of Totality...
We saw it at 90%. Really cool! A co-worker brought in his grandfather's telescope and we were able to view it through the scope. Got a pic on my cell phone, too!

Re: Path of Totality...
It turned out to be a really nice day.
We wouldn't consider travelling through traffic to places full of people, so we were at 85.8%. (I kept hearing higher percentages but just looked it up and that's what NASA says!) I had zero interest/excitement for the day: my hometown was in the path of totality in 1999 so my family (who are visiting me right now) had been there done that and I'd been at 99.7% or something. (Albeit cloudy.) However, we had a beach day planned. So we were at the beach from 9:30-5. (Eclipse was 1-4.) It turned out great! Very sunny day, no clouds. DH brought his welding helmet. So we all got to see the sun a few times, just briefly: the little moon bite, the big moon bite, the height of obscurity when the sun was just like a little crescent on top. Very cool! It was also surprisingly amazing to experience the change in light feel. Temperature drop, different shadows, birds and bugs making noises out of time. All whilst the sky was blue. Love CJ's description of it!
