anyone here use LED lights for your house?
I'm not sure I've seen LEDs in a room. Does it make everything blue?
I need to buy a bunch of lamps to light up the bedrooms in our new place. The walls are beige if that matters. I refuse to go CFL, so please no one encourage that. I'm narrowing it down to fixtures that will accept either incandescent or LED bulbs. What is the light of LED like? And if you have horror LED sites to link go ahead & do so.

Dh and I hate the CFL bulbs, too, so he is switching us over to LED, slowly. They are fine. A little slower to light up and turn off, but barely, and no blue tint here. Hope that helps!

There is no difference visually, but it's great on the electric bill. And they last forever.

Re: anyone here use LED lights for your house?
My husband has been switching out most of our traditional light bulbs for LEDs. I've never noticed a difference. He said 22 of our lights are LED's.

Re: anyone here use LED lights for your house?
Early on when they first came out they did seem a little blue to me, but not anymore. I have been really happy with them so far.

Don't get the ones labeled as "daylight." Very harsh light. That's the only kind I've tried, but after reading this thread I'm feeling motivated to try again with a different type.

Re: anyone here use LED lights for your house?
I don't know much about them, but DH has been slowly switching ours out. At first I didn't like their color at all, but DH bought some that are a different color somehow and are "warmer" and I like them now!

If they come in warm or cool I much prefer warm.

Re: anyone here use LED lights for your house?
Would anyone mind sharing a warm LED brand and type with me? I've tried several and not hugely happy with the color of the light.

Re: anyone here use LED lights for your house?
My only complaint with them is that they tend to "throw" less light. In that the circle of light they create seems smaller than the old school incandescent bulbs.

Re: anyone here use LED lights for your house?
I'm mad at LED's for political reasons. GE had the patent on LED's long ago, but no one would pay to switch from an incandescent to a $10 bulb, so it made selling incandescents illegal, with promises CFL's were awesome. Of course, CFL's didn't live up to the promise and I suspect GE knew they wouldn't. The choice between a $4, awful bulb and a $10 bulb now makes sense though and I suspect that was GE's plan all along.
