This phase is getting REALLY annoying....
So, Simon, in the past couple weeks has started a new phase. I'll dub it the, "obsession with time" phase. He knows how to tell time, both digital and analog. So, for instance, today he was home sick (actually he was sick yesterday but the school has a 24 hour rule). This has been my day since first thing this morning.
"Mom how much more longer until Justin and Lala leave?" "They leave at 8" "Mom how much more longer until Justin and Lala come home?" "They get home at 2:45" "Mom how much more longer until lunch time?" "I'll make you lunch at 11" "Mom how much more longer until I go to the dentist?" "You're appt. is at 3" "Mom how much more longer until the dentist comes in here?" "I don't know. However long it takes her to finish up her other patient" "Mom how much more longer until we get home?" "It's only a 5 minute drive" "Mom how much more longer until you go to school?" "I have to leave at 4:45" "Mom how much more longer until dinner?" "I should be back from school early tonight but I'm not sure" "Mom how much more longer til bathtime?" "You take your bath at 7:30" "Mom how much more longer til bedtime?" (OK I got a bit snarky here)"If you keep asking then you can go to bed now" OK so to put this in context, the boy can do math, knows how to tell time, knows how to count the hours and minutes, and asked each of these questions every 10 minutes until that event had passed. I literally answered them up to 10x's each. It's driving me NUTS!! Anyone had a child go through this phase before? He's the youngest of four but he's also the only one that has done this. Oh and ignoring it isn't an option, then I get this..... Mom how much more longer til dinner? Mom how much more longer til dinner? Mom how much more longer til dinner? Mom how much more longer til dinner............." I have timed him before and he will keep up the repetitive question for at least 5 minutes. I finally caved after that amount of time. I couldn't handle it anymore. Help, anyone whose been through this, any suggestions???
