What to do with left over red heart yarn?
I am trying to use up my stash before I go out and buy new yarn. The solid colors would be pretty for a wall hanging, but what about the variegated yarn?

Crafts for kids - God's eyes, puppet hair, etc.
My DD likes doll hats and blankets a lot. Use as gift wrap. I love craft paper wrapping with several winds of yarn instead of ribbon. |

Baby hats
When I just want it gone and don't want to figure out a knit solution, I donate the remnants to a local preschool for their craft room.

If it's cotton you can make a NICU octopus. They are cute little crocheted toys that help preemies, but my dd is making me one as a baby toy.

I have plans to make bags with the cotton. I used quite a bit making an ottoman. There is a daycare down the street from me. The public library has classes for toddlers. That would be an easy fix.

Headbands are good, the ones with a ponytail holder in the back work best IME. I have made my own yarn cakes before and then made a poncho with them. I think you could make a yarn cake with the variegated and matching solids if you wanted to. Of course if you have a lot the stripy scrap blankets are cool.

Yarn balls? Use glue and balloons to make them, they make pretty decorations, ornaments, etc.
