Flip or slider for a basic phone? (Update: ordered a slider!)

I have been avoiding replacing my flip phone (had it for over 6 years). I wanted a slider so I'd have a key pad for faster texting. But now I wonder if it is harder to use thumbs on those tiny keys. Is it?

I do just fine texting on my flip phone by the way.

No, I am not getting smart phone, I do not need one.

I prefer texting on the number keypad too. I think about little keyboard would be awful.

I loooved my slider phone. I hated texting on a numerical keyboard.

IMO, the slider nudges out the flip . . . but not by much.

Dh and I communicate mainly via text during the day while he's at work, and I love the keyboard on my LG phone for this (I don't want a smartphone either). The only thing I don't like is the bulkiness of it. I miss my old little Kyocera that was so light and tiny but it was a pain to text on.

It's been ages since I had one so I'm not sure how much they've changed since them, but I preferred a slider phone. It took a few days to get used to the smaller keys to text with, but I'm still pretty sure I was a faster texter on my old slider phone than all of my touchscreens since.

We have both a flip phone and a slider and hands down I love the slider.

For me definitely the slider.

It has started dropping calls in different spots in my house. Lived here over 3 years and not had any reception problems until the past few weeks.

Oh, and my phone was randomly turning itself off but that stopped until recently.

I'll get the free phone will just have to buy a car charger, if I want one. I don't use the car charger that much.

I was leaning toward ordering one just like that, then remembered when I had a non-flip phone and the numbers and letters wore off the keypad from going in and out of my pocket. It did take a 2 yrs or so though.

Since I cannot make up my mind I think I'll just get another flip phone.

The keyboard is hidden under the screen and slides out, so there's no way for the letters and numbers to rub off.
