Natural safe cleaners for :
Natural Slate floors
Granite countertops waxed hard wood floors Glass shower stall doors and walls Sink basin and Toilet seats and sides (something that will get them clean but not jeopardize the granite or the slate surfaces that are around them) Please give me your ideas. I don't like using chemicals or scented items. But I really need some ideas to protect our home and keep it clean. I would LOVE simple. Something I could buy and mix up for all these surfaces? Or just something I can buy ready-made is fine as long as non-toxic and not scented. Something that would clean any and all would be jazzy. Thank you!!! Steam for the slate and glass. Subbing for answers on the wax finish floors. I only ever spot clean with a baby-wipe. Our living room needs to be rewaxed, though, and I will probably use very hot, damp rag that one time. I certainly wouldn't do that on a regular basis.

Re: Natural safe cleaners for :
I just found a cleaner scrub recipe I like online. I use it on the sinks and tub/tub walls.
It is 1 cup baking soda 1/2 cup salt 1/2 cup borax powder I add a few drops of sweet orange essential oil smells great and cleaned the film out of my one bathroom sink that just baking soda and other cleaners didn't seem to get off. (I actually had thought that the sink needed a new finish!). it doesn't seem to scratch or abrade the porcelain or fiberglass. I put it in empty shaker containers like parmesan cheese or spice containers with large hole shakers.

Re: Natural safe cleaners for :
By waxed hardwood floors, do you mean you know they are waxed, as opposed to sealed? Was paste wax used?
If they are sealed wood floors, get thee a Shark steam mop! Or a microfiber mop and spray diluted vinegar (roughly 1:5 vinegar to water) before mopping Werth microfiber. I clean toilet bowls with Bar Keeper's Friend because we have hard water and it WORKS. I clean everything else in my house with diluted vinegar. Is your granite sealed? |
