Flats and Handwashing Challenge
Today is the start of the 2020 flats and Handwashing challenge. Is anyone else joining in?
This year I've got 2 in cloth full time, and 4 kids at he full time including a newborn, so it's going to be an adventure to say the least! If you haven't heard of it, the flats and Handwashing challenge has been running for 10 years now. Every year families sign up to use exclusively flats and covers on their babies, and to handwash and air dry them, to raise awareness and resources for families in 'diaper need'. 1 in 3 families (similar stats forUS and UK) can't afford to provide the necessary number of disposables to keep their baby clean and dry, which means they also probably don't have the resources to purchase modern cloth diapers, when cloth could be a great way of providing security in this area. Many families also do not have access to a washer and dryer which can feel like a huge barrier. So there's 150+ of us this year, aiming to show that flats and Handwashing can be a viable option, and to use our experiences to make a resource of information for families in a position to need it.

Re: Flats and Handwashing Challenge
I didn't hear about this untill mine were out of diapers. I only used flats with both of mine. It is such a wonderful option that most people don't know about, even in the cloth diapering world.

Re: Flats and Handwashing Challenge
What a neat idea!! I’ll be using flats this time around. I used them every now and then with DS2. I still have five or six weeks before this next baby is born.

This is the first I've heard of it!
Very neat & I'd have been all over it if I knew.... my youngest will be 7 this year.
